- Sony announced the online server for Eye of Judgement will be switched off on September 30, 2010, after that onine play will no longer be possible.
- Square Enix annnounced that over 500,000 copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have shipped in Japan, Modern Warfare 2 sold over 300,000 units and Modern Warfare sold over 200,000 copies in Japan. This is a success as first person shooters are not popular in Japan.

- Square Enix has filed Tactics Ogre and a subtitle for the game Let Us Cling Together for trademark protection in US and Europe. It is possible the company is planing a remake of the game or a new sequel.

- Nintendo has filed a Wii hard drive patent protection in US, which allows user to transfer Wii games to a hard drive. Nintendo plans to make a separate hard drive partition for each DVD game, when games are saved on a hard drive, Wii displays a directory and shows all available games with box art.
