- Sony announced they have sold 3.8 million units of PlayStation 3 worldwide during the Christmas holiday sales season.

- Sony announced that a summer 2010 firmware update will enable the PS3 to play 3D games (3D effects that make objects pop out of the TV screen) and 3D Blu-ray videos. The effects can be seen by wearing 3D glasses.

- Sony announced there are over 38 million registered user accounts in PlayStation Network worldwide.

- Sony announced that they have a new technology to increase capacity of the Blu-ray Disc from 25GB to 33.4GB per layer. PS3 and other Blu-ray players will be able to read the new improved format by updating the firmware. No launch date has been announced yet.

- Koei will release the strategy game Nobunaga no Yabou: Tendou for PS3 in Japan on March 4, 2010.

- Sony will release the Michael Jackson's This Is It Special Pack PS3 Bundle in Japan on January 27, 2010, for 33500 yen (US$364), which includes a 120GB PS3 Slim, a Blu-ray Video of Michael Jackson's This Is It, DualShock 3 controller, network cable, AV cable and USB cable.

- The latest issue of Famitsu mentioned that a new robot action game from Namco Bandai will be revealed next week.

- UNCONFIRMED: Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported that Nintendo will release a new Legend of Zelda game for Wii before the end of 2010.

- Asahi Shimbun also reported that Nintendo will reveal more details on the Vitality Sensor for Wii at E3 2010.

- Microsoft announced the installed base on Xbox 360 has reached 39 million units worldwide, and over 500 million games have been sold worldwide.

- Microsoft mentioned that nearly 10 million users have accessed Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Last.fm, Sky and Canal using Xbox Live and Zune. During the holiday season, over 2.2 million users logged into Xbox Live at the same time.

- Currently there are over 20 million Xbox Live members worldwide.

- Microsoft's president of Entertainment and Devices Division Robbie Bash announced the Xbox 360 Motion Control System Project Natal will arrive in the Christmas season of 2010 in North America and Europe.

- Microsoft confirmed that DLC is planned for the 360 adventure game Alan Wake, which will be available in North America and Europe in spring 2010.

- Microsoft announced GameRoom for Xbox 360, which is a virtual arcade for avatars, players will be able to play classic arcade games in there. Konami, Atari, Activision and Intellivision will support the GameRoom service, and it is scheduled to launch in spring 2010 with 30 titles. New titles will be offered every week, and over 1000 games will be available over the next 3 years, the price is between 240 to 400 Microsoft points. In addition to classic game, original new contents will also be available.

- Nintendo president Satoru Iwata mentioned that the successor of NDS will likely to offer high resolution graphics and have a built-in motion sensor to detect player movement.

- Sega announced the PSP version of Valkyria Chronicles 2 will have linkup feature with Valkyria Chronicles for PS3, players can unlock Isara with the save data from the first game. Isara is the sister of the first game's heroine.

- Namco Bandai announced over 1 million downloads for the God Eater demo since its release on November 19, the game will be released in Japan on February 4, 2010.

- Atlus announced they will publish the PSP RPG Hexyz Force in North America sometimes this year.

- Atlus will publish SNK Playmore's Metal Slug XX for PSP in US on February 23, 2010.
