Nintendo has officially announced the Nintendo 3DS at E3, the system will have 3D screen on top and touch screen on bottom. The 3D display requires no glasses and can be turned on and off. Nintendo also revealed that the 3DS will be able to take 3D photos and playback Hollywood 3D movies (Disney, Warner Bros, Dreamworks etc) without 3D glasses. 3DS also features a new slide pad, gyro and motion sensors. Here are the full specs:
- Dimension - 5.3" wide, 2.9" long, 0.8" tall when closed
- Weight - 8 ounces
- Top Screen - 3.53" widescreen LCD, 800x240 pixels (400 pixels allocated for each eye to enable 3D viewing)
- Touch Screen - 3.02" LCD, 320x240 pixels
- 3D Control - 3D Depth Slider to adjust level of 3D effects (scaled back or turned off)
- Game Card - 2GB Max
- Wireless - IEEE 802.11 WPA/WPA2, able to exchange data with other 3DSs or server while in sleep mode
- Controls - Touch screen, microphone, A/B/X/Y/L/R/Start/Select buttons, + Control Pad, Slide Pad (360 degree analog pad), one inner camera, two outer cameras, motion sensor, gyro sensor
